Submit a Session Proposal
The Call for Proposals (CFP) will open on Tuesday, December 16!
Whether you’re building delightful tools, experimenting with Rust in surprising places, exploring systems design, or sharing lessons from collaboration and community, we’d love to see your talk on stage. Choose the session type that fits you best:
- Full-length talk: 40-minute breakout session, including optional Q&A
- Lightning Talk: 5 minutes, no Q&A
You don’t need to be a full-time Rust expert or a seasoned presenter to submit a proposal. We welcome a wide range of Rust-related topics and aim for a balanced program. Example categories include:
- Practical Rust Insights: Lessons from real-world Rust usage
- Community Interest Stories: The human side of Rust collaboration and impact
- Design & Architecture: The “why” behind patterns and performance decisions
- Skills & Tooling: Debugging, testing, workflows, and joyful developer experience
- Rust in New & Exciting Places: Novel use cases, language features, and what’s next
- Experiments & Wild Ideas: Creative and unexpected Rust projects
- Learning & Teaching Rust: Documentation, onboarding, pedagogy, accessibility
- Rust Global: Case studies from industry and organizations worldwide
If your idea doesn’t fit neatly in a category, that’s okay! You’ll also have an option to submit without selecting a category. Time to start brainstorming! The CFP will close on February 16.
Request An Invitation Letter
International guests are warmly welcomed at RustConf 2026!
If you require a visa to travel to Canada, we strongly recommend starting the process as early as possible, as visa processing times vary by region. Learn more about visiting Canada here.
A RustConf invitation letter can help the visa application process by formally stating the purpose and duration of your visit to Canada and showing that you have a legitimate reason to travel — directly from your hosts.
To request an invitation letter, please click the button below to fill out a short form. When completed, we’ll promptly review your submission and send you a personalized invitation letter as a PDF — including our event registration code with the Canadian government. We’ll also attach a document containing further guidance about your application.

About RustConf:
The Rust programming language is built by a thriving global community of open source maintainers, programmers, and enthusiasts working across a vast array of industries and domains. Rustaceans – and their ideas – are making Rust a powerful tool for a changing technological landscape.
Since 2016, Rustaceans have gathered each year at RustConf: the community’s largest annual conference dedicated to discussions and content about the Rust programming language and the open source software ecosystem. Today, RustConf is hosted by the Rust Foundation: the independent nonprofit steward of the Rust programming language and its global community.
